Coast & Downs Veterinary Physiotherapy respects your privacy and works to ensure your privacy is protected.

Any identifying information that is collected will be used in accordance to the UK-GDPR and Data Protection Laws (Data Protection Act, 2018). 

The UK-GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, (DPA 2018) requires us as a data controller for your identifying data to:

  • Process your data in a lawful, fair and transparent way;

  • Only collect your data for explicit and legitimate purposes;

  • Only collect data that is relevant and limited to the purpose(s) we have told you about;

  • Ensure that your data is accurate and up to date;

  • Ensure that your data is only kept for as long as is necessary and for the purpose(s) we have told you about;

  • Ensure that appropriate security measures are used to protect your data.

 

The lawful basis for processing your personal data is contained within Article 6 of the UK-GDPR which states:

Processing shall be lawful only if and to the extent that at least one of the following applies:

  1. The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

  2. Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.

  5. Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller.

Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the data controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data and, where the data subject is a child.

We may collect personal information about you when you: contact us via phone or email, make an enquiry about our services or book an appointment.

This may include but is not limited to: your full name, your address, your email address or your telephone number.

This information may be used to: process your requests, process appointment bookings, receive and process payments and maintain records.

This information will not be sold to third parties, and will only be shared if required to do so by law with as few parties as necessary.

Data is retained on password-protected devices for as long as required to fulfil it's purpose, including for legal, accounting, regulatory, disciplinary and reporting requirements.
